Hosting
The qurl.be pages and tools.qurl.be tool are hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène Marziano 25, 1227 Les Acacias (Geneva), Switzerland.
The Infomaniak legal notice provides the hosting provider's contact details. The new generator uses no user database.
Using and sharing a QR code
Check that you are entitled to share the information and images used. QR content is not encrypted: anyone with the file can read it.
An encoded link opens a separate service whose availability and operation do not depend on Qurl. Read the method and its limits before distributing materials.
The libraries used retain their respective licences, available in the third-party licence file.
How it works and what we check
QR creation and reading take place in your browser without sending your content to Qurl. A link is encoded directly: Qurl does not shorten it or replace it with a redirect.
The preview and PNG and SVG exports are decoded and compared with the expected content. A failed check prevents downloading. PDFs are checked against a fictional dataset in automated tests; each downloaded PDF is not read again in your browser.
Our tests cover exports, personalisation, image reading, keyboard use, and desktop and mobile layouts. Tests on iPhone, Android and printed QR codes were confirmed by the publisher on 25 October 2026. These checks do not cover every combination of content, device and material.
A decodable QR code guarantees neither its destination's safety or availability nor compatibility with a Wi-Fi or Contacts app. Test your QR code on the final material; print PDFs at 100% without automatic scaling. Also see the printing guide and the safety advice.
