Two US parks connected to a Fortnite island
Announced at D23 on 15 August, the experience covers Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios near Orlando, Florida. Disney says it is included at no extra charge with valid park admission. That does not make a park visit free or establish availability at Disneyland Paris.
Smugglers Gambit is a game island developed by Disney’s teams in Fortnite. It extends the attraction’s world through missions and digital rewards rather than simply offering a video to watch after the ride.
In the queue, the QR code leads to the mission
In its on-site report, WDW News Today shows a sign with a QR code in the queue at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The outlet says scanning leads to the mission in My Disney Experience, where the guest must be signed in and accept it before boarding.
The QR code therefore makes the correct screen easier to reach. By itself, it is not proof of taking part in the attraction. A QR code’s content and the service’s action are separate things: the same address can open a journey whose later stages depend on the account and the issuer’s conditions.
The ride itself also matters
Epic announces a Forsworn Trooper outfit for eligible players who have experienced the attraction and whose MyDisney and Epic Games accounts are linked. The publisher also says the ride score becomes credits usable in Smugglers Gambit. These visit-related benefits differ from a reward earned only by playing on the island.
Disney’s announcements provide for a code redeemable in Fortnite for guests who have ridden but cannot link their accounts. Eligibility and the process are determined by Disney and Epic. A photograph of the queue’s QR code therefore cannot guarantee every reward to someone at home.
A physical entry point with a digital continuation
The QR code’s value comes from its location and context: the mission is presented where the guest is about to take part. The sign needs to explain what opens and what remains to be done. That is also the purpose of readable action wording beside the code.
For a museum, event or simpler trail, QR uses during a visit show how to connect a place to a useful page. Qurl can encode an existing public link; it manages neither Disney/Epic account linking nor validation of a ride.
