What is changing on 27 October

Qurl is updating its pages to help you turn an idea into a useful QR code more quickly. Practical guides now have their own section, News has a separate space, and the use case catalogue is growing with photographs and activity-specific walkthroughs.

This release also makes A4 label sheets available in the print preparation tool. The service follows the same principle: create, read or prepare a QR code without an account. The available tools remain accessible from the main navigation.

30 guides, a dedicated section

The 30 existing guides are brought together in a library separate from the news. Printing, choosing a format, adding a logo, Wi-Fi or lifespan: each article answers a practical question and links to the relevant tools or examples.

Have you saved an old blog address? It redirects to the corresponding guide. The old Blog hub addresses lead to News. The guides remain available in French, English and Dutch.

24 use cases to start from your needs

The catalogue now presents 24 use cases grouped by activity and medium: hospitality and accommodation, shops and trades, events and community, places and services, print materials and business. The photographs help put each project in context.

Three walkthroughs are complete: restaurant, printer and association or club. The other 21 are marked “Coming soon”. Their pages already point to a useful tool, but are not presented as completed articles.

For example, a restaurant can prepare a link to its menu or share its Wi-Fi. An association can direct people to an existing registration form. Qurl creates the QR code that leads to that destination; it hosts neither the menu nor the form responses.

The same QR code, repeated on an A4 sheet

The print preparation tool can repeat the same QR code up to 100 times on an A4 page. Set the dimensions and spacing, add a caption if needed and check the preview before downloading the PDF.

This mode is suitable for a set of labels that all contain the same information. It does not create 100 different QR codes or import a CSV file. How many labels fit on the sheet depends on the QR code size and the settings you choose.

To print the PDF, choose actual size at 100%, without automatic scaling. Business card and flyer templates also remain available in Resources to help you prepare another medium.

Your tools and formats remain available

The new organisation keeps the generator, image reader and PNG, SVG and PDF exports. Information entered to create or read a QR code is processed in your browser. These section changes do not alter QR codes you have already downloaded.

A static QR code containing a link still depends on its destination: if your page or document moves to a different address, the printed QR code does not update. When preparing new materials, first choose an address you can maintain.

News articles developed one at a time

This first News article presents updates that are already available. The other topics in the hub will be developed separately, based on verifiable facts and sources: shops, tourism and culture, security, packaging and accessibility.

A “Coming soon” card reserves a topic; it is not a published news article. To solve an immediate printing or scanning problem, the practical guides remain the starting point.
