Use one row per destination
Start with a unique, stable identifier separate from the commercial title. Add the full link, expected QR filename and review status. For internal tracking, you can add the material, language and owner without recording passwords.
Fictional register example, to adapt to the columns required by any batch tool you use:
id,url,file,status A01,https://example.org/produits/a01,qr-A01.png,a-verifier A02,https://example.org/produits/a02,qr-A02.png,a-verifier
The column names above are not a Qurl import format. Their purpose is to maintain an explicit mapping between the requirement and the resulting file.
Clean the data before producing images
- Remove empty rows and accidental spaces around addresses.
- Find duplicate identifiers and filenames.
- Check identical links: intentional repetition or a copy error?
- Keep identifiers with leading zeroes as text.
- Open expected destinations and check permissions.
Do not base filenames solely on row numbers: sorting can change the order. Identifier A01 should still refer to the same content after sorting, translation or adding a product.
Check the actual exported file
Choose an encoding that preserves accents, usually UTF-8, and confirm the separator expected by the receiving tool. A semicolon-separated file may not be read as comma-separated CSV. RFC 4180 describes how fields containing commas or quotation marks are quoted.
Reopen the export using the chosen settings. Compare row counts, first and last entries, accented characters and complete URLs. If the table comes from a third party, inspect it as text before opening it in a spreadsheet that might interpret cells as formulas.
Keep the mapping through to printing
Create a small sample before the full series. Decode each image and compare its content with the expected row, not with another previously exported file. When generating manually in Qurl, download and rename each file with its identifier before moving to the next.
Freeze a version of the register with the delivered images. Record later corrections separately to avoid reprinting an old destination. Continue with pre-print checks and label-sheet layout.
